Privacy Policy

This policy explains what happens to your information when you visit dheenavoice.com. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
The short version
This is a brochure site for a one-person voice over practice. It has no accounts, no forms, no comments, no shopping cart and no advertising. The only cookies it sets are Google Analytics’ own, which count visits, and visitors in the UK, the EU, the EEA and Switzerland are asked first. Nothing is loaded from YouTube, SoundCloud or Google Maps unless you press play or ask for the map.
If you never contact me, I never learn who you are.

Dheena Chandra Dhas, working as an independent voice over artist from Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu, India, is responsible for this website and for any personal data it handles.

What this site collects
Nothing you type. There is no contact form, no newsletter signup, no search box and no login. There is nowhere on this site to enter personal information.
Analytics cookies, and nothing else. The only cookies this site sets are
the _ga cookies Google Analytics uses to recognise a returning visit. Nothing
here uses local storage to identify you, and nothing fingerprints your browser
or device. There are no advertising cookies and no profiling cookies.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 and Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views and understand which pages people find useful. Both report totals and trends to me. I never see individuals, and I do not sell, share or export any of it.
Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-BHN29RMGBM) loads gtag.js from
googletagmanager.com and sends a page-view to Google on each page you open.
It sets first-party _ga cookies in your browser, which let it tell a
returning visit from a new one, so that one person reading four pages is not
counted as four people. Those cookies are readable only by this site, and they
are not used to follow you onto any other website.
What it sends is the page visited, the referring site, an approximate location derived from your IP address, and general browser and device type. Google states that Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses, and that IP addresses of visitors in the EU and UK are discarded before any data is recorded. The tag is a plain page-view configuration: it sends no ecommerce data, no user ID, and nothing you have typed. Google Signals is turned off on this property, there is no advertising on this site, and none of this data is used to build advertising audiences. Google’s handling of what it does receive is covered by the Google Privacy Policy; their Analytics terms describe how sites like this one use the service.
To opt out of Google Analytics entirely, install
Google’s opt-out add-on, block
googletagmanager.com in your browser or tracking blocker, or refuse cookies
for this site in your browser settings. The rest of the site works normally
without it, and nothing here treats you differently for opting out.
Ahrefs Web Analytics is cookieless. It does not use client-side state to
track you across visits or across websites, and it does not build a profile of
you. It is loaded from analytics.ahrefs.com, so that request does reach Ahrefs
on every page view; their handling of it is covered by the
Ahrefs Privacy Policy.
If you are in the UK, the EU, the EEA or Switzerland, you are asked first.
Your approximate country is read from the request by Cloudflare, which hosts the
site; it is not stored. For visitors there, Google Analytics does not load and
sets no cookies until you press Accept on the notice at the bottom of the page.
Pressing Decline means it never loads. Your choice is remembered in your
browser’s local storage under ga-consent so you are not asked on every page;
that entry holds only the word “granted” or “denied”. Visitors elsewhere are not
shown the notice and Google Analytics loads normally. Ahrefs sets no cookies and
is not affected.
To change your answer, use this button. It forgets your choice, deletes any
_ga cookies this site set, and reloads the page so you are asked again.
Embedded content
Some pages offer content hosted elsewhere:

Until you press one of those, no request is made to Google or SoundCloud and they receive nothing about your visit. This is deliberate.
Once you do choose to load one, that provider receives your IP address and can set its own cookies, exactly as if you had visited their site directly. Their handling of that data is governed by their own policies:

YouTube videos are loaded through youtube-nocookie.com, which limits the
tracking YouTube performs before you interact with the player.
Audio files
The voice samples hosted directly on this site are ordinary audio files served from this domain. Playing one sends no information anywhere except the ordinary web server request needed to deliver the file.
Hosting and server logs
This site is hosted on Cloudflare’s network. As with any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information needed to deliver pages and protect against attacks and abuse — including IP addresses — and retains it briefly for security purposes. This is standard infrastructure logging and is not used to identify or profile visitors. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
When you contact me
If you email, call or message me on WhatsApp, I hold what you send — your name, contact details and whatever you tell me about your project — so that I can reply and, if we work together, deliver the work.
I use that information only to correspond with you and to carry out work you have asked for. I do not sell it, rent it, or share it for marketing. I keep it for as long as our conversation or working relationship reasonably requires, and for as long afterwards as tax and business records require.
Legal bases
Where the UK or EU General Data Protection Regulation applies, the legal bases are:
- Consent — for Google Analytics, which does not load until you accept it. You can withdraw consent at any time with the reset button in the Analytics section.
- Legitimate interests — for cookieless analytics (Ahrefs) and for keeping the site secure and available. I use analytics only to see which pages are read, and never to profile or advertise to you.
- Performance of a contract, or steps before one — for correspondence about a project and for delivering work you have commissioned.
Where India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 applies, information you send me is processed for the purpose you sent it for, and this notice serves as notice of that purpose.
International transfers
I work with clients in India and internationally. If you contact me from outside India, your correspondence will be received and stored in India. Cloudflare operates a global network, so pages may be served from a location near you. Google Analytics data is processed by Google on servers that include the United States, under the safeguards described in Google’s own privacy terms.
Your rights
You can ask me to:
- tell you what personal data I hold about you
- correct it if it is wrong or incomplete
- delete it
- provide a copy of it
- stop using it for a particular purpose
Write to dheenavoice@gmail.com and I will respond. There is no charge, and I will not ask you to justify the request.
If you are in the UK or EU and are unhappy with my response, you may complain to your national data protection authority. If you are in India, you may raise a grievance with me first at the address above; if it is not resolved, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
This site is aimed at businesses and production professionals. It is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
- 7 October 2026 — Visitors in the UK, the EU, the EEA and Switzerland are now asked before Google Analytics loads, and it sets no cookies for them unless they accept. The Analytics section and the legal bases describe how, and how to change your answer.
- 14 September 2026 — Google Analytics 4 was added to the site. Google Analytics ran on the previous version of this website and was deliberately left out when the site was rebuilt in August 2026; it has now been restored. This site previously set no cookies at all, and now sets Google Analytics cookies. That is a material change, which is why it is recorded here. The sections above have been rewritten to describe it, and the opt-out is named in the Analytics section. Cloudflare Web Analytics was removed from the list of tools in use at the same time: it was named here but had never actually been switched on, so this policy was describing something that was not running. Cloudflare still hosts the site, which is covered under “Hosting and server logs” below.
