DheenaVoice.com Has Been Rebuilt

Today, DheenaVoice.com - The Official website of Dheena Chandra Dhas has been relaunched, with a brand new design, a new platform, and a new outlook. If you have visited this website before, it will look rather different today.

The old site had served me well for a few years, but it had grown slow and cluttered in the way websites tend to. It has now been rebuilt from the ground up. Everything you came here for is still here, in the same place, and the things that were worth keeping have been kept.

Voice Over Samples

The most important change is on the Voice Samples page.

Every demo now has a proper player showing the actual waveform shape of the recording, so you can see where a passage rises and falls before you press play, and skip straight to the part you want to hear. This is important for a VO artist’s website, in my opinion.

Those waveforms are drawn from the recordings themselves. What you see is genuinely my voice on the page, not decoration.

Faster, and quieter about you

The site now loads considerably faster, particularly on a phone or on a patchy connection. That matters if you are a producer checking demos between meetings, or if you simply like leaner, faster websites - they’re better for the planet!

It is also much leaner on tracking visitors. There are no advertising trackers and no cookies of my own. No more Google Analytics. Nothing loads from YouTube, SoundCloud or Google Maps until you actually choose to play a video or open the map, which means those companies learn nothing about your visit unless you ask them to. Visitor numbers are counted in aggregate so I know which pages are useful, and that is all. There is no consent banner to dismiss, because there is nothing to consent to.

What has not changed

My voice, my studio in Kodaikanal, my rates, and the way I work with clients - none of that has changed.

The services I offer are the same, the biography is the same, and every page you may have bookmarked will still take you where it did before.

Blog posts now have a simpler style of web addresses though. Older links still work and will carry you to the right page automatically.
